The short version
- On Android, your data stays on your device unless you choose Google Drive sync.
- On iPhone and iPad, your data stays on your device unless you choose iCloud sync.
- Nothing is sent automatically when you use Translate.
- We do not operate accounts, analytics, or a server that receives your reading data.
- We cannot see what you read, which apps you block, or how you use the app.
Another Page is a digital wellbeing app that helps you read more and scroll less. This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and what is shared. It covers Android, iPhone, and iPad.
What the app accesses
On iPhone and iPad: Screen Time
Another Page uses Apple’s Screen Time (Family Controls) framework to block the apps you choose. You grant Screen Time access and select apps through Apple’s system screen. Another Page receives only opaque, on-device references. It does not learn app names or identifiers, your installed-app list, or your usage history. iOS applies and enforces the block on your device.
Screen Time data is used only for app blocking. It stays on your device and is never sent to a server, sold, shared, or used for tracking or advertising.
On Android: Usage stats
Another Page uses Android’s UsageStats API to detect when you open a blocked app. The app checks the foreground app and shows the reading screen when it matches your blocked list. This data is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted, retained beyond the current check, or shared.
On Android: Installed apps list
When you choose apps to block, Another Page reads the installed-app list so you can select from it. The list is requested only when needed, processed on your device, and never transmitted or stored. On iPhone and iPad, Apple’s picker handles selection and returns only the opaque references described above.
Reading progress and preferences
Your reading position, streaks, goals, blocked-app choices, theme, and other settings are stored locally. Selected reading data leaves the device only when you turn on one of the optional sync options below: Google Drive on Android, iCloud on iPhone and iPad. Sensitive and device-specific information always stays local.
Optional iCloud sync
Premium users on iPhone and iPad may turn on sync. When enabled, Another Page copies the categories you select to an app-specific folder in your own iCloud Drive so your other Apple devices can use them. Sync runs when you open or return to Another Page, leave the reader, or tap Sync now.
Synced categories may include reading positions and cover progress; highlights, notes, and bookmarks; shelves; reader and library preferences; reading statistics and streak inputs; finished books; goals, group names, schedules, and reading-rule templates; and metadata and reading state for books you import.
If Your book files is enabled, imported EPUB, PDF, MOBI, AZW3, FB2, and CBZ files up to 100 MB may also sync. Larger files stay on the device. Downloaded catalog books and covers, blocked apps, active unlock sessions, enforcement counters, your PIN, commitment cooldowns, pending rule weakenings, purchase status, remembered PDF passwords, and iCloud credentials stay on each device.
Synced files go to Apple as your chosen cloud-storage provider. Another Page does not operate a sync server, receive the files, or remotely inspect them. Apple processes iCloud data under Apple’s Privacy Policy. Apple states that iCloud Drive data is encrypted in transit and on its servers under standard data protection, and end-to-end encrypted when Advanced Data Protection is enabled; see Apple’s iCloud data security overview.
You may turn sync off at any time. This stops future syncing on that device but does not delete copies already in iCloud Drive. You can manage or delete those files from iCloud Drive. iCloud sync works only between Apple devices and does not sync to Android.
Optional Google Drive sync
Premium users on Android may turn on sync with their Google account. When enabled, Another Page copies the categories you select to a private app folder in your own Google Drive so your other Android devices can use them. The folder is hidden from My Drive, and only Another Page can open it. Sync runs when you open or return to Another Page, leave the reader, or tap Sync now. It carries the same categories as iCloud sync, with the same 100 MB limit for book files, and the same items stay on each device.
Another Page asks Google for one permission: to see, create, and delete its own configuration data in your Google Drive. It cannot see or change your other Drive files. Each sync uses a short-lived access token that Google gives the app on your device. Another Page never sees your Google password and keeps no long-lived token. Your Google account’s email address is stored on your device to show which account is connected and to keep every sync on the same one.
Synced files go to Google as your chosen cloud-storage provider. Another Page does not operate a sync server, receive the files, or remotely inspect them. Google processes Drive data under Google’s Privacy Policy, and the folder counts toward your Google storage.
Another Page’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data from your Google Drive is used only to sync your reading between your devices. It is not used for advertising, sold, or transferred to anyone else.
You may turn sync off at any time. This stops future syncing on that device but does not delete what is already in your Drive. To delete it, open Google Drive on the web, go to Settings, then Manage apps, and choose Delete hidden app data next to Another Page. To remove Another Page’s access to your Google account, use Third-party connections in your Google Account. Google Drive sync works only between Android devices and does not sync with iPhone or iPad.
Translation
Another Page never sends selected text automatically. When you choose Translate, the text may be processed by Apple’s Translation service, an installed translation app, or a web translation provider opened as a fallback. That provider’s privacy policy applies. No text is sent unless you invoke Translate.
Purchases
Premium purchases are handled entirely by Google Play on Android or the App Store on iPhone and iPad. Another Page does not process, see, or store payment information.
How blocking is enforced
On iPhone and iPad, iOS manages blocking through Screen Time. There is no background service or screen overlay. iOS shows its own block screen when you open a blocked app. Another Page may show a local reading reminder and a Live Activity countdown while an app is temporarily unlocked. These run on your device.
On Android, Another Page shows an overlay when you open a blocked app and runs a background service to detect it. Both use permissions you grant manually in system settings. A persistent notification appears while the service runs. You can disable blocking at any time in the app’s settings.
