The short version
- All your data stays on your device.
- We don't have servers, accounts, or analytics.
- We can't see what you read, which apps you block, or how you use the app.
Another Page is a digital wellbeing app that helps you read more and scroll less. This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it's used, and what's shared. It covers both the Android version and the iPhone and iPad version.
What the app accesses
On iPhone and iPad: Screen Time
Another Page uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) framework to block the apps you choose. You grant Screen Time access, and you pick the apps to block from Apple's own system screen. The app only ever receives opaque, on-device references to your choices. It never learns the names of those apps, their identifiers, your full list of installed apps, or your usage history. The blocking is applied and enforced by iOS on your device.
Screen Time data is used only to provide the app-blocking feature. It stays on your device, is never transmitted off it, is never stored on a server, and is never sold, shared, or used for tracking or advertising.
On Android: Usage stats
Another Page uses Android's UsageStats API to detect when you open a blocked app. This is how the reading gate works: the app checks the foreground app, and if it's on your blocked list, the reading screen appears. This data is processed entirely on your device. It is never transmitted, stored beyond the current check, or shared with anyone.
On Android: Installed apps list
When you choose which apps to block, the Android app reads your list of installed apps so you can pick from them. This list is queried on-demand, processed on your device, and never transmitted or stored. On iPhone and iPad the app never sees your installed apps: Apple's system picker handles the selection and returns only the opaque references described above.
Reading progress and preferences
Your reading position, streaks, goals, blocked-app choices, theme, and other settings are stored locally on your device. None of this data leaves your device.
Purchases
If you subscribe to Another Page Premium, the purchase is handled entirely by the store you bought it from: Google Play on Android, or the App Store on iPhone and iPad. We do not process, see, or store any payment information.
How blocking is enforced
On iPhone and iPad, blocking is managed by iOS through the Screen Time framework. There is no background service and no screen overlay. When you open a blocked app, iOS shows its own block screen. The app may show a local notification reminding you to read, and a Live Activity countdown while an app is temporarily unlocked. These run on your device.
On Android, Another Page shows an overlay screen when you open a blocked app, and runs a background service to detect this. Both require Android permissions that you grant manually in system settings, and the app shows a persistent notification while the service is running. You can disable blocking at any time from the app's settings.
